Miss'n My Luke Duke

Luke is on vacation with my sister in Orange Beach, Alabama. He has been gone since 830am Saturday a.m. and will back home Wednesday night. We are missing him....not sure how much he's missing us..:) He is having so much fun. I have called him about twice a day and everytime I all he seems distracted by all the fun he's having. So Mr Luke Blocker....Hurry home. We miss you. But we are so glad you're having the time of your life.

Where is the Pause Button?

2009 Summer Vacation is over. We had a blast. Kids loved the beach. Stacy and I loved it all...beach, shopping, eating, and spending time with the family. We have been to Florida the past 4 summers. We have taken the same pic that is above 3 of 4 trips and it's kinda sad to see how much our kiddos are growing up! Shyann is turning into a little lady....Luke is no longer my baby boy and turing into a polite young man, and Lawson is into everything and we would't have it any other way. I titled this blog "Where is the pause button" because we're going to blink and baby Lawson will be going off to college. Life goes by so fast. We lost a very close friend a year ago and it has taught me alot about life such as: Don't sweat the small stuff.....Don't take life to seriously....Surround yourself with good, postitive people....Laugh alot....Hang out with friends....Hang out with family.....Don't worry about stuff you cannot control.....Be a good friend...and just have fun....lots and lots of fun. We miss you Aaron...alot!

Living the good life

Vacation is still going well. The kids are having a blast....so are the grown-ups. We have had perfect weather every day we've been here. The water has been clear the past 3 days and Lawson is wanting in the ocean more and more.

Last night we ate at The Treasure Ship. The kids all got ballon swords and face painting. Shyann got a lizard and Luke got a bloody sword. Lawson didn't want any part of that. Dinner was wonderful as the boat over looks the bay. It is the same area all the fishing boats are. We have fished the past couple of years in this area. After dinner we went to Pier Park. This is a shopping/entertainment area. The kids were able to play. There was a coconut tree climbing area, merry-go-round and a jumping area. We arrived to late to enjoy other activities...but Luke told me we are going back tomorrow night ;)

2 more days on the beach and we're homeward bound. It's been great to get away with the family. The kids grow up so fast so we try to take as many pictures as we can to capture the moment.

Till next time.

More Vacation

Today the weather was beautiful!!! I got up early...for some reason....and was able to have a walk on the beach while everyone else slept. It was so peaceful.

Lawson has hated the beach/ocean so far but today he started liking it more. He usually wants me to hold him and walk out into the ocean. Today he even rode the Sea Turtle!
I got burned more today than I did yesterday. I applied sunscreen twice. I am an albino!! The rest of the gang got burned to. Of course we all got an afternoon nap in before supper....gotta love vacation.
Tonight we ate at Sharky's. I had the Mahi-Mahi....it was SO GOOD! Luke tore up some crab claws and grouper nuggets. He said he wants to eat here everyday until we go home. ;)
I think tomorrow we are going to shell island. Stacy and Shyann is really looking forward to tomorrow.
Hope everyone reading this back home is safe. I heard there were some nasty storms that rolled thru Missouri.
Till we meet again....

Vacation has begun!

Well....I'M ON VACATION!!

We left out for Panama City Beach at appox 5:20am on Saturday a.m. We are vacationing with Stacy's mom, brother and his family. We have a beach house for the next week.

The drive down went as well as expected....until Gabby (our Garmin) decided to put us through hell the last 60 miles of the trip. Instead of taking us around the Pensacola/Destin way....she put us right thru the madness! We hit every light you could...and there are stoplights every 8 feet. It took us 90 min to go 60 miles....great way to end a day long trip!

So we made it to our home away from home. It's nice. View is outstanding. We were able to get on the beach for maybe 45 min before dark......off to bed we went.

Sunday-- Day on the beach! Sun, Sand, Burns. We had it all today. I used SPF 3000 and still got red. Oh well....tomorrow i'll peel and look albino again. I so can't keep color. We had fun today. Lawson wasn't super excited about the beach/ocean as the other kids did. They loved it. The water was alittle sea-weedy(if that's a word) but cleared up by 2ish. Tonight we went out to eat at one of our favorite spots...Pineapple Willy's. They had live music. Luke got to eat his gator he talks about all year. I had their famous bucket of ribs. Afterwards we went to Alvin's Island gift shop and the kids actually got to hold a live gator there. Fun times. I did post some pics on my facebook. You'll have to check them out. I will try to blog tomorrow.

18 Fore Life Weekend

What a weekend! The 18ForeLife weekend is one of those weekends you look forward to every year. The weekend consists of the banquet on Friday night and the golf tournment on Saturday.
FRIDAY NIGHT- This year we had lots of friends that attended the banquet with us. Stacy and I were joined by Todd and Kriste McGowan, Lindsay Horton, Marcus Norden and Chase Noe. In years past we went with the Nordens but were blessed with more friends attending with us this year. At this year's banquet they had Jon Sunvoild. He was an amazing guard for Mizzou....but he's a terrible public speaker. He kept jumping around from story to story and he talked FOREVER! There was a video message to the Kruse family from Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhart Jr. That was pretty cool to see. This year they had a live auction. They raised $19,000 in the live auction! That is amazing. They had tons of country music stuff, NASCAR stuff and that's where our 18ForeLife poker table was auctioned off. It went for $1,100. We are all excited about that. They ended the night with live music. Addie Kruse kicked it off and The Buzz finished it! Fun times
SATURDAY- I just love golfing with my buddies. Same foresome as last year...Me, Todd, Marcus and Brad. We didn't play very well this year but still laughed the whole 18 holes. There is nothing better than hanging out with good friends on the golf course. To bad we don't get to do it very often. We shot 1 under. 3 birdies and 2 bogeys...rest par. I have lots of pics but not smart enough to post on the blog. You'll have to check out my facebook for those.
Off to bed I go. Until next time.....

Great weekend

I am just wrapping up an amazing weekend. The weather could not have been nicer! I got to spend alot of time with the family this weekend. Saturday ...worked on the mower and got the yard look'n good and Saturday night Me, Stacy, Shyann and Luke all went to Robin Northern's wedding reception. Luke stayed for the first couple of hours and then had to take him to his Gma's house but went back to hang out with friends. Shyann tore up the dance floor and had an amazing guitar solo. She's gonna be the life of the party in high school. We start therapy on Monday.....

Sunday.....absolute amazing day! Luke had a game today. He went 2 for 3 with two doubles!!! It was so hot! He played at 2pm (make up game from last Tuesday). My mom and dad came today. Stacy's mom and dad was there as well. After the game we went to Bernie to my parents house for some victory strawberry shortcake. After getting my butt whooped in a game of hillbilly golf we came home and grilled some steaks. We were able to just chill on the back deck most of the evening. I love this time of year. We did get to watch a movie tonight. We watched Taken. Pretty scary to think there are people out there with the sole intent to hurt others for profit. I know this wasn't based on a true story but wonder how often this stuff happens?!?

Starting another work week in the a.m. Still a couple of doc short so plan on seeing lots of sick kids. Good note....only a 4 day work week for me. I am off Friday....which is...THE 18FORELIFE BANQUET!! We are also playing in the golf tourney the next day. That's for another day and another blog.

Hope everyone had as great as weekend as I did!
